Card Making Is Special

February 26th, 2010 . by admin

There is something very impersonal about store bought cards. They have other people’s words and a generic sentiment. Sending an email card is even more impersonal, it requires only a few clicks of the computer and then it is forgotten. If you want to let your loved ones know that you are really thinking about them, you should consider Card Making. It’s a way to show how you truly feel about someone, and to use your own words to do so. It is so much more personal than using what someone else wrote. Making your own cards will also cost less than most store bought cards in the long run.

Card Making is great for any occasion. You can make cards for birthdays, weddings, christenings or even just to let someone know that you are thinking about them. Use your imagination and be creative! Make a spooky card for Halloween, or a beautiful heart shaped card for Valentine’s Day. Another great time to make your own cards is Christmas or Hanukkah. If you make your cards yourself they will be remembered so much more than cards that are just grabbed out of a box. We send people cards to let them know that we are thinking about them, what better way to show it than to make it just for them.

Like other hobbies or crafts, you’re going to need some Card Making supplies. These don’t have to be extensive or cost a lot of money. A few things that you might want to make your own cards are paper or stationary, pens, pencils, glitter and glue. One great way to make your card is to draw the design lightly with a pencil, and then use it as a guide for the glue. Place the glitter on top and let it dry. The next thing you know, you have the perfect card. Rubber stamping is also a fun technique when making cards.

If you have children then Card Making can also be a great bonding experience. Kids are very creative by nature, and making cards together will not only draw you closer as a family, it will give someone a keepsake to cherish for years to come. Kids will love to have the opportunity to make something for someone special, and it’s an easy craft for them to do. Make sure you place newspaper on the table before you start and cleanup will be a breeze.
